Mikey joined Counterpart Ventures on Fund I as a foundational member in 2018, helping to create the Counter Club and define how we provide tangible value to our founders. Mikey now splits his time between San Francisco and Sydney, growing our global footprint. He looks for software and deep tech founders at the earliest stages: Seed and Series A. Focusing on the early-stage challenges of team building, customer acquisition and taking a product to market.

Mikey began his career as a journalist in his home city of Perth, Western Australia. After completing his Masters at the University of Western Australia he began working in tech and entrepreneurship: creating Australia's largest startup competition and festival. He then spent 4+ years working in the mining and resources sector, where he helped introduce and drive innovation aimed at solving industry's most pressing challenge: automation. This led to the co-creation of countless startups in the US, Canada and Australia.

Mikey joined Counterpart Ventures at the beginning. He is responsible for helping to create the Counter Club community, a global network of corporate investors. Now he focuses on helping his portfolio companies acquire new customers, make key hires and set strategy. Today he looks to invest in founders building software and hardware companies in compute, materials science, energy, critical minerals, manufacturing, logistics and deep tech.

In his spare time Mikey enjoys running, cycling and watching his favorite club Manchester United. Although he was born in Australia his family originates from Greece. Mikey's Greek culture and heritage is very important to him. He grew up in his family’s seafood business working closely with his Papou, after whom he is named.
